2018/19 kit unveiled via new mobile app

City have unveiled their 2018/19 strip via a brand new club mobile app.

The City app, built by Priority SMS, is free and now available to download on Apple and Android devices.

Chairman of Bristol Sport Jon Lansdown said: “The City app will allow supporters to access immersive and interactive content in the palm of their hand.

“Introducing new features like the ‘Appy Hour’ and Augmented Reality, we hope supporters will love using the app and it can really enhance their fan experience.”

The City app includes a range of new features:

  • ‘Appy Hour’ - timed offers and discounts activated at the tap of a button
  • Breaking news notifications
  • Exclusive competitions and prize draws
  • Exclusive City-camera filters to personalise your photos
  • Augmented reality features offering added content and insight within Ashton Gate

The app will also incorporate all of the existing content currently on the club’s official website, such as:

  • News
  • Fixtures and results
  • Match Centre - all the key stats from every City game
  • BCTV video content
  • BCTV+ live video and audio for subscribers

Download the app today and you’ll be eligible for our first ‘Appy Hour’ starting at 3pm.

The offer coincides with Ashton Gate’s World Cup Village, which will be screening Uruguay v Saudi Arabia (4pm kick-off) and Iran v Spain (7pm kick-off).

‘Appy Hour’ offers are available by tapping the banner at the top of the app and showing the active countdown timer to bar staff at Ashton Gate. Once claimed, supporters have an hour to make use of the current offer.

Fans will begin to notice the augmented reality logo appearing on key areas around Ashton Gate and in the matchday programme. Anywhere this logo appears, supporters with the app can hover their smartphone and view extra content within the stadium.

Head of digital Richard Pepper said: “We’re delighted with this first phase of the Bristol City app delivered by Priority.

“The app includes some key functionality that supporters have been asking for including notifications on breaking news, and the ability to watch/listen to BCTV+ on mobile devices whilst replying to text messages and browsing the internet.

“We’re already working on extra features to continue to develop this platform over the coming weeks and months.”

Priority SMS managing director Jamie Mitchell said: “It is fantastic to be working with Bristol City on this exciting venture.

“They are a club who are constantly working on ways to make their fan experience the best it can be. We’re delighted to be a part of that journey.”
