2018/19 Academy winners revealed

Bristol City FC Academy have celebrated another successful season with their annual Awards Evening.

More than 300 players, parents, guardians and staff attended the event on Wednesday night where a total of ten awards were handed out to the worthy winners.

The first team were in attendance too, with representation from assistant coaches Dean Holden and Jamie McAllister, and a reunion with the Academy for goalkeeper Max O’Leary.

Along with Players’ Player for every age group there were also the ‘Frank Jacobs’ awards - recognising those with an outstanding attitude, impressive work rate and undeniable passion for the game – in honour of the late Bristol City FC Academy coach.

An ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ was presented to coach Graham Muxworthy, who turned 80 this year and has been with the Academy for more than 25 years. Players including Liam Rosenior, Matt Hill, Joe Burnell and Bobby Reid sent video message of thanks and – once the standing ovation had died down – the much-loved member of staff assured the room he wouldn’t be retiring anytime soon.
