Education and Welfare
Education is a key part of our young players’ lives and should run seamlessly alongside their football career.
At Bristol City we equip the boys with all of the skills to become a professional footballer, but leave them with options to continue down other paths should they need to.
Our programme includes regular school visits, effort and behavior monitoring and our EFL Scholarship Apprenticeship for the Under-18 squad. The Education department is passionate about ensuring players leave Bristol City with the best possible chance of succeeding in all aspects of life.
Thomas Harvey and Pete Coleman (Head of Education and Head of Welfare respectively) work together to create an effective and safe learning environment for the boys. Thomas taught in various schools across the region before making the move into the football industry and Pete is one of the original founders of our Academy and is a fountain of football knowledge. These two combined brings a unique level of experience to their departments.
