City completed the signing of the highly-rated Sweden international from IFK Gothenburg for an undisclosed fee on summer transfer deadline day 2016. The forward signed a three-year contract at Ashton Gate with an option of a further year. Engvall, who hails from Kalmar in the South East of Sweden, began his career at Farjestadens in the third tier before departing in 2012. Having made his IFK debut aged 17, he racked up a total of 16 goals in 64 appearances for the two-time UEFA Cup winners. Twice capped by his country at senior level, Engvall won the Newcomer of the Year award in his native top flight for his performances in 2014 and was a Swedish Cup winner the following season. The highly-rated youngster has three goals in ten appearances for Sweden Under-21s.
