Former Manchester United and Cardiff City keeper

Tom Heaton came through the ranks at Manchester United before numerous loan spells away from Old Trafford, including 24 appearances for Cardiff City in 2008/09.

In 2010, he completed a permanent switch to the Welsh capital, but often found himself warming the bench.

Last season, Heaton made a name for himself by saving two penalties against Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup semi-finals. Ultimately he had to settle for a runner-up medal despite denying Steven Gerrard from 12 yards when the final, against Liverpool, was decided on spot-kicks.
