WEMBLEY: CITY TRAVEL PLAN
The following information has been put together by Wembley Stadium to assist Bristol City fans in planning their journey to and from the Stadium for the Championship Play Off on May 24th 2008.
This information is correct as at the time of compilation. Visitors are encouraged to check with the appropriate transport providers closer to the date of the event for any updates.
Wembley Stadium is a public transport destination. Further information about travelling to Wembley Stadium can be found at wembleystadium.com/gettingtowembley.
By Coach
The club is offering coach travel at £20 per person (£22 non-members) on 0871 222 6666. National Express offers coach transfers from all over the United Kingdom to the coach park at Wembley Stadium. For more information or to book your place on the coach, please go to nationalexpress.com/wembley.
By Rail
Full details of train times by National Rail are available at nationalrail.co.uk.
Full details of London Underground, London Overground or London Buses are available at journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk.
Outward Trains
It is recommended that passengers travel by National Rail from either Bristol Temple Meads or Bristol Parkway stations to London Paddington. The times for the through trains are shown as follows:
Bristol Temple Meads dep 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00
Bristol Parkway dep 11:02, 12:02
London Paddington arr 12:15, 12:30, 12:42, 13:17, 13:41
From London Paddington fans can travel to Wembley Stadium via any of the following routes. Allow 60 minutes to travel between London Paddington and Wembley Stadium regardless of the route chosen:
- Use the Hammersmith & City, Bakerloo or Circle Line eastbound to Baker Street then change onto the Metropolitan Line northbound to Wembley Park Station (10 minute walk to Wembley Stadium).
- Use the Bakerloo Line eastbound to Marylebone then change to the National Rail Station and use the Chiltern Railways shuttle service to Wembley Stadium Station (5 minute walk to Wembley Stadium).
- Use Bakerloo Line westbound direct to Wembley Central (15 minute walk to Wembley Stadium).
Return Trains
Passengers should return to London Paddington from Wembley Stadium via any of the following routes. Allow 60 minutes to travel between Wembley Stadium and London Paddington regardless of the route chosen:
- Use the Metropolitan Line from Wembley Park Station (10 minute walk from Wembley Stadium) to Baker Street then the westbound Hammersmith & City, Bakerloo or Circle Line to Paddington.
- Use the Chiltern Railways shuttle service from Wembley Stadium Station (5 minute walk from Wembley Stadium) to Marylebone then the westbound Bakerloo Line to Paddington.
- Use the Bakerloo Line direct from Wembley Central (15 minute walk from Wembley Stadium) to London Paddington.
From London Paddington there are National Rail services to both Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway stations. The times for the through trains are shown as follows:
London Paddington dep 18:00, 18:30, 18:45, 19:00, 19:45, 20:00, 20:30, 20:45
Bristol Parkway arr 20:07, 21:06, 22:13
Bristol Temple Meads arr 19:42, 20:15, 20:42, 21:47, 22:16
Engineering work are planned between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway from 22:15, Saturday, May 24th until 11:25, Sunday, May 25th.
Park and Ride
For those travelling by car to the Match it is suggested that they park their cars at one of the following stations. For those with SatNav, the postcodes are also shown:
- Warwick Parkway, CV35 8RH
- Banbury, OX16 8AB
- Bicester North, OX26 6EF
- High Wycombe, HP13 6NN
- Beaconsfield, HP9 2PJ
From the above stations there are frequent direct trains to Wembley Stadium Station but the times at not available at the time of writing. It is suggested that you allow up to 70 minutes to reach Wembley Stadium from each of the above stations. The detailed Chiltern Railways train times for the day will be available at

Alternatively, pre-book a car park space at a London Underground station and make the rest of your journey by tube. For more information, please visit

Car Parking
Brent Council operates a resident's permit scheme in the local area on stadium event days, which extends in a 1.5 mile radius around the stadium. Any illegally parked cars may be issued with large fines and towed away. Only vehicles with official Wembley Stadium Car Park passes will be able to access the Stadium Car Parks.
Please note the stadium car parks do not open until 3 hours prior to kick off, being 12pm for each of the Football League Play Offs. Vehicles should not arrive prior to this time as they will not be able to access the car parks. Vehicles must vacate the car parks by 1.5 hours after the match.
Blue Badge
Parking for Blue Badge holders is available to purchase via csparking.com/stadium at a cost of £12 per a pass. Passes will entitle holders to park in the blue badge area of one of the two onsite car parks.
Coach/Minibus Parking
Coach and minibus parking is also available to purchase via csparking.com/stadium and will cost £40 for this event. Coach spaces should be booked as soon as practical as space will be at a premium for this event.
