Louis Carey admits the season has been a "nightmare" on both a personal and team level, but is adamant that the best is yet to come from Bristol City. The defender and club captain has not kicked a competitive ball for the Robins since last May after a bizarre heel injury ruled him out for all of pre-season. Added to that, the Robins, who had to overcome manager Steve Coppell's resignation after one league match, have not yet won a game so far. But Carey, who dropped a barbecue on his heel in June in one of the most bizarre sporting injuries of all time, could be back at Scunthorpe United on Saturday to add his experience to City's backline.

Injured Wolves striker Sam Vokes is still hoping to make an impact at Bristol City. The Wales international, 20, was sent on loan to Ashton Gate at the start of the season but had only been on the pitch 13 minutes when he suffered a hamstring tear against Millwall on the opening day of the season.

Cheltenham Town midfielder Frankie Artus has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a cracked fibula. The left-footed former Bristol City player scored the Robins' goal at Barnet, firing in a 25-yard free-kick after only 65 seconds. But he hobbled off in the 33rd minute after receiving a knock to his lower leg and an X-ray has confirmed there has been a break. Artus joined Cheltenham from City during the summer after previous loan spells at the Abbey Business Stadium.

Bradley Orr says the amount of talent in the Loftus Road dressing room has knocked him for six and he is convinced he has made the right move in joining the club. The QPR full-back has been an ever present since his summer switch from Bristol City, and even opened his account in the 2-0 win against Scunthorpe last month. He said: "The amount of ability in the dressing room is frightening. The natural ability the squad's got has been a real opener for me."
