TUESDAY'S PRESS TALK

Posted on: Tue 20 Jul 2010

Bristol City will consider allowing Paul Hartley to leave Ashton Gate on a free transfer. The veteran midfielder, signed from Celtic a year ago, is the subject of interest from Scottish Premier League outfits Hearts and Aberdeen. Although neither club has made an official approach for the Scottish international star, both have been engaged in talks with Hartley's agent to discuss the terms of a possible transfer. And City manager Steve Coppell is prepared to sanction Hartley's return to his homeland following a recent meeting with the midfielder.

Bath City manager Adie Britton's big-name signing target has been revealed as Bristol City legend Scott Murray. The 36-year-old midfielder is a free agent after leaving Yeovil Town at the end of last season and is training with the City squad, the club revealed tonight. He is set to feature in tonight's friendly with Exeter City at Twerton Park (7.45pm) and will become the second vastly-experienced former Ashton Gate man, after Joe Burnell, to sign for the club this summer should he opt to drop into Blue Square Bet Premier football.
