WEDNESDAY'S PRESS TALK

Posted on: Wed 14 Jul 2010

Manager Steve Coppell witnessed a goal from his first signing for Bristol City in his opening game in charge. Albert Adomah, the new recruit from Barnet, netted the opener in a 1-1 draw with former Uefa Cup winners IFK Gothenburg in Sweden. In the absence of injured skipper Louis Carey, new boss Coppell handed the captain's armband to midfielder Cole Skuse. Coppell has not yet decided who his captain will be in the long-term and, although Carey remains favourite for the role, the former Reading chief admitted Skuse was also a candidate.

Hartley has already held talks with Jim Jefferies about a possible return to Hearts, but the Tynecastle manager has not been back in touch with the playmaker, who made 42 appearances for the Robins last season following his switch from Celtic.
