Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard may have to see a knee specialist this week over the injury that is set to rule him out of the club's pre-season tour of Sweden. Fellow frontman Danny Haynes is also set to miss the trip with groin and thigh problems. Maynard will see how his knee settles down this week before the club's physios re-assess the problem. City fly out today and are due to play three games in five days. Manager Steve Coppell said the duo were not likely to feature as a precaution, but defender Louis Carey will make the trip despite a cut heel received when carrying a barbecue.

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll said the return to full training of striker Steve Brooker "is like having a new player". Brooker, who joined Doncaster from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee in January 2009, missed the whole of last season and played only seven games of the campaign before that due to a succession of ankle-related problems.
