Round-up: The Bristol Evening Post says Steve Coppell is to be interviewed by City this week. They claim the former Reading boss has attracted chairman Steve Lansdown's interest and is on his shortlist for the vacant post. Meanwhile, Clubcall say Keith Millen has declared his intentions to be the next boss, discussing his own attributes. Full links below.
Steve Coppell is to be interviewed for the vacant Bristol City manager's job. The former Manchester United and England star has been out of the game since quitting as Reading boss 11 months ago. But he is now ready to go back into management and has applied for the Ashton Gate position vacated last month by Gary Johnson, who parted company with the Robins by mutual consent. Coppell, who has also managed Crystal Palace, Brentford, Brighton and Manchester City, is on a shortlist of candidates being interviewed by City chairman Steve Lansdown. City caretaker boss Keith Millen has been told he will be involved in any new management structure, and Lansdown must decide whether to appoint the Londoner first-team boss and bring in a director of football to work alongside him, or recruit a new manager and ask Millen to be his assistant.
Bristol Evening Post
Caretaker boss Keith Millen claims he is 'experienced and knowledgeable enough' to become the permanent manager of Bristol City. Millen was installed in charge of first-team affairs following Gary Johnson's departure and he has helped guide the Robins into the top half of the Championship table following a six-match unbeaten run. As a result he has now admitted that he would like to be offered the Ashton Gate hot seat on a full-time basis at the end of the season. However, as chairman Steve Lansdown is set to make a decision following the conclusion of interviews, Millen also revealed he would happily stay on at the club in a coaching capacity if he did not get the top job.

OTHER NEWS
Bristol City boss Keith Millen has set his side the task of coming away with nine points from their three remaining league fixtures. The Robins lie six points behind Swansea, who currently occupy the final play-off spot, but their form has been impressive since Millen took caretaker charge six games ago. Millen told the Bristol Evening Post: "It has been great to put a run like this together and, given the form we are in, it's a shame we don't have a few more games left.
