SATURDAY'S PRESS TALK

Posted on: Sat 10 Apr 2010

Lee Trundle has warned Swansea City that they will line up against a revitalised Bristol City at Ashton Gate today. The on-loan Trundle will not be allowed to feature today because, officially at least, he remains a Bristol City player. Though he is unlikely to represent the Robins again - he is out of contract this summer - Trundle remains up to speed with what is happening at Ashton Gate thanks to a number of former team-mates. And the Scouse star has revealed that City are playing with a new freedom following the departure of long-serving boss Gary Johnson. Trundle helped to take Johnson's City to the Championship play-off final two years ago, most notably with a goal against Crystal Palace in the semi-final second leg. But things turned sour this term for former Yeovil boss Johnson, who won only two of his last 12 games before leaving in mid-March. Since then, with assistant Keith Millen in caretaker control, the team Johnson left behind have won three and drawn two of their five second-tier fixtures. "With Gary Johnson gone they are going to be a different proposition for us," said Trundle.

Bristol City caretaker manager Keith Millen has urged his side to continue their impress run of form when Swansea arrive at Ashton Gate. The Robins are unbeaten in five games since the 43-year-old was put in temporary charge following Gary Johnson's departure. City retain a mathematical chance of reaching the play-offs ahead of the clash with the fifth-placed Swans and Millen is looking for a strong finish to the season from his players. He said: "I hope there will be a good atmosphere and we certainly don't want our season to fade away. We haven't let that happen yet and with the recent run we've moved ourselves into a decent position. It is England versus Wales, a bit of a derby and we want to continue this good run we're on."

Bristol City caretaker boss Keith Millen will continue with Stephen Henderson in goal for their match with Swansea on Saturday. Henderson made an impressive debut at Sheffield Wednesday after coming in for first-choice Dean Gerken.

Keith Millen may be doing a fine job as caretaker boss at Bristol City, but he admits he is still undecided as to whether he is going to apply for the post on a permanent basis. The Robins have climbed to ninth in the table on the back of a five-game unbeaten run since the departure of Gary Johnson, but Millen said: "I've still to make a final decision whether to apply or not. "I've had a meeting with the chairman and I was pleased with what he had to say. I know where he is coming from and he knows where I am coming from. We discussed just about every aspect of the club, from players to staff to the academy to recruitment.
