Bristol City grabbed a desperately hard-fought point at Portman Road. Both sides hit the frame of the goal but it was Ipswich who dominated possession and chances and should have taken the victory. But the Robins will return west with a draw that extends their unbeaten run to three games, even if it does little for their hopes of making the play-offs. Ipswich have been hard to beat at home since the autumn and they always looked much the more likely winners but they found City keeper Dean Gerken in prime form.

Dean Gerken produced a series of stunning saves to frustrate Roy Keane's Ipswich. But the Bristol City keeper almost went from hero to zero deep into stoppage time. Time and again Gerken pulled off top stops to keep Ipswich at bay before he badly blundered. He completely missed his punch after coming to deal with Town sub Connor Wickham's long throw-in and the ball bounced into the net. Ipswich fans started to celebrate but, after a short delay, ref Nigel Miller rightly disallowed the effort as no-one made contact with the ball from Wickham's throw.
