Bristol City boss Gary Johnson is adamant that he and his players are looking forward to returning to the scene of their 6-0 hammering by Cardiff. The manager admitted Bristol City's worst home defeat since 1923 - when Derby County won 8-0 at Ashton Gate - means they will have to win back the support of many fans. But, 11 days later, Johnson insisted his men will be up for the challenge when Coventry City visit south Bristol tomorrow. City stopped the rot with a 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough last Saturday, but Johnson knows there is plenty of work to do. "You have some fans who will support you through thick and thin, and we appreciate them, and they have made themselves heard in the last few days," he said.

So losing 6-0 at home to a local rival was not a familiar experience for the Bristol City midfielder. City's capitulation to Cardiff City last week still lingers in the memory for the former Hibs, Hearts and Celtic man. "It was the worst defeat I have suffered and it wasn't nice, but you have always got the next game to make amends," he said. "It was hard to take. Coming into the dressing room was difficult, but that is the way football is."

Midfield duo Cole Skuse and Jamal Campbell-Ryce are doubtful for Bristol City as they prepare to welcome Coventry to Ashton Gate. Both men suffered knocks in Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough and they had not recovered sufficiently enough to take part in Thursday's training so may miss out. Marvin Elliott replaced Skuse at half-time at the Riverside and would be the top candidate to earn a start should the 23-year-old fail to recover.

Patrick Agyemang is hoping to use his loan spell with Bristol City to resurrect his international career and earn a place at the World Cup. The QPR striker, who is on loan at Ashton Gate until the end of the season, has won four caps for Ghana, but has not been selected since 2006. The 29-year-old admits that a lack of regular action at Loftus Road has made it difficult for him to be picked, but he remains determined to get the most out of his spell with the Robins and do everything he can to get on the plane to South Africa. "I've not played for my country for a couple of seasons now and they have gone with other strikers. Hopefully, that will change now I'm with Bristol City," he said.
