New Bristol City striker Patrick Agyemang has revealed he is still dreaming of a World Cup call-up. The Ghana international has signed on loan from Queens Park Rangers for the rest of the season after falling out of favour at Loftus Road. An international recall could even put Agyemang on course for a World Cup last-16 clash in South Africa with his country of birth - England. Agyemang has not played for Ghana since 2006, when he narrowly missed out on going with the Black Stars to the World Cup in Germany. But Ghana assistant coach Akwasi Appiah has promised to travel over to watch the big target man in action following his move to Bristol City. "Being in and out of the team at QPR didn't really help my international career," he said.

Bristol City have taken the unusual step of advertising for a new head of schoolboy and youth recruitment. The vacancy has arisen after Kevin Scott left Ashton Gate to take up a similar post with Premier League side Stoke City. City's Academy has produced a host of first-team players over the past decade or more, including Leroy Lita, Liam Rosenior, Dave Cotterill, Cole Skuse, Danny Coles and Matt Hill. Youth football positions are often filled by people well known within the game but City want to recruit more professionally by opening up their selection process to a wider field. Pete Coleman, head of education and welfare at City, said: "We are looking for someone with some experience in junior football to identify young players, but they must also have the ability to organise quite a big team across Bristol and the south-west. Co-ordinating that is quite a skill."

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has confirmed his son, midfielder Lee Johnson, will not be going back to Derby County on loan. Johnson played seven games for the Rams in January and they were keen to secure his services until the end of the season but boss Johnson has put paid to that. The Robins boss believes his son could well be utilised in the remainder of the season.
