Gary Johnson is adamant there will be no ill-will on his part when Bristol City renew acquaintance with Crystal Palace this weekend. City travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday to take on the Eagles in what will be the first meeting between the two sides since the controversial 'goal that never was'. Palace are still fuming after being denied what they considered a perfectly good goal, scored by loan striker Freddie Sears, in a Coca-Cola Championship game at Ashton Gate in August. The South London club ended up losing the game 1-0 and chairman Simon Jordan afterwards branded City cheats, while manager Neil Warnock railed against match referee Rob Shoebridge.

Bristol City will again be without Evander Sno against Crystal Palace this weekend as he is still away on compassionate leave. Sno is back in his homeland in Surinam after attending the funeral of his grandmother and boss Gary Johnson says he does not expect the player to be back in time for the weekend. "Evander has to be rated doubtful for the Palace game," Johnson confirmed. "We expected him to be back this week, but it seems funerals in that part of South America are a major event and can go on for quite a few days."

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson believes his side's habit of conceding late goals has become a psychological obstacle which needs overcoming. Preston, Scunthorpe, Peterborough, Sheffield United, Reading and Watford have all stung the Robins late on in their respective games, depriving them of valuable points which could have taken them to within touching distance of the Championship pacesetters. City have kept six clean sheets in 23 games this season, but have only shut out once since their 0-0 draw with current league leaders Newcastle on October 3. Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post: "I think it has now reached the stage where it is playing on their minds. It started out as a physical problem, with players switching off and losing their markers, but it's now become psychological.

Midfielder Gavin Rae is available for selection against Blackpool this weekend after a plaster cast on his hand was removed on Tuesday. The former Rangers player suffered two broken fingers following the 4-4 farce at Peterborough last week and was not included in the squad for the FA Cup tie against Bristol City last Saturday which was called off due to a frozen pitch. Rae said: "The cast came off on Tuesday and everything seems to be fine, all I have to do is see the specialist today and then I'll be available for selection on Saturday against Blackpool."
