Dele Adebola is quite prepared to put his car on the line when he comes up against Championship promotion favourites Birmingham City at Ashton Gate tonight. Bristol City's veteran striker spent five years on the Blues' books and still lives in nearby Solihull. And he is acutely aware that a Bristol win will not go down at all well with friends and neighbours in the Midlands. "If I score and we win, then I'll probably get home to find my car on bricks," joked the Scouser.

Scott Murray has told of his surprise after learning that his Cheltenham Town debut could come against Bristol Rovers tonight. The Bristol City winger began a month-long loan deal with the Whaddon Road club yesterday after new manager Martin Allen made the 34-year-old his first signing. And he is included in their squad for tonight's West derby against the Pirates. "I didn't know what Cheltenham's next game was until Gary Johnson told me they were playing Rovers tonight," said Murray. "So it's one of the best games I could have hoped for. I'm sure the Rovers fans will give me a nice reception!"

Birmingham City will face their toughest test of the season on Tuesday night when they face Bristol City at Ashton Gate. Gary Johnson's side were the surprise package last season when they reached the play-off final and have shown they were no one-season wonders by starting this campaign in a similar fashion. Like Blues, City are still unbeaten, although they have drawn both their opening home games of the season, and Birmingham defender Stuart Parnaby is expecting a tough match. Parnaby has been an ever-present this season after getting the nod ahead of Stephen Kelly and has played his part in Blues' impressive start to the campaign. Two seasons ago Birmingham set a Championship record of 18 clean sheets as they clinched promotion to the Premier League and Parnaby knows a similar statistic will put Blues on the right course again. So far they have kept three clean sheets in their opening five games and the former Middlesbrough defender knows defensive strength will put Blues in with a chance once more. "It has to be an aim for us (to match the 18 clean sheets)," he said. "If we did that we would have a great chance, especially at home, clean sheets will be massive for us. Hopefully, we can take it on to Bristol.

Brian Wilson is expected to miss Bristol City's Championship clash against Birmingham at Ashton Gate. The former Cheltenham midfielder limped out of the goalless draw at Cardiff on Saturday with what appeared to be a shin or ankle injury following a kick to the leg. However, the 25-year-old has since been diagnosed with shin splints which look set to rule him out against the Blues and possibly the home game against Doncaster at the weekend.
