WEDNESDAY'S PRESS TALK
Bristol City's Chris Weale will miss most of his brother's bid for Olympic glory tomorrow because he will be preparing with his team-mates for Saturday's trip to Coventry. The goalkeeper's twin, Sam, competes in the five disciplines of the modern pentathlon in Beijing from 1.30am tomorrow morning. Sam should have completed the shooting and fencing aspects of his medal bid by the time Chris wakes up. And Chris will train with City while Sam is taking part in the horse riding but should have finished by the time the final section - the running - is taking place. Chris said: "I will set my alarm at 7.30am because it wouldn't be ideal preparation for Saturday to get up at 1.30am! I haven't asked the manager (Gary Johnson) about having any time off because - in terms of me being an ultimate professional - I wouldn't like to be away from the team."

Andy Webster is looking forward to proving his injury problems are behind him after joining Bristol City on a six-month loan deal. The defender has spent the last 18 months struggling with a knee injury and his last competitive appearance was in September 2007 when he scored in Rangers' 4-0 win against Gretna. "I have trained throughout pre-season and I feel fine," Webster said. "I know there is a difference between matches and training but the sooner I get involved the better. Although, I know I have to earn the right to play.

Gary Johnson believes Bristol City have pulled off a major transfer coup in signing Scotland international Andy Webster on loan from Rangers. Webster, 26, has moved to Ashton Gate on a six-month deal following long-term injuries to Robins defenders Christian Ribeiro and Jamie McCombe. "We needed competition at centre-half and Andy is a rabbit out of the hat, that's for sure," City boss Gary Johnson said. "To get somebody of Andy's experience, given the amount of games he played for Hearts and internationally for Scotland, is fantastic."
