Bradley Orr is refusing to wear a protective face mask when he returns to competitive action later this week. Bristol City's 25-year-old right-back has not been able to risk physical contact on a football pitch since suffering a depressed fracture of his cheekbone during the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final against Hull at Wembley on May 24. Orr required an operation to repair the damage and spent three days in hospital following City's defeat.

Emad Meteb's transfer from African giants Al-Ahli to Bristol City has been on and off for a while. The clubs agreed on a £1.5million fee, but disagreed over the payment method. But now Meteb's agent Ahmed Rifai claims that Ahli have accepted to receive the transfer fee in instalments.

Former Berkeley resident Christian Ribeiro is expected to travel with the Bristol City first team squad to Forest Green Rovers for the pre-season friendly on Saturday.
