FRIDAY'S PRESS TALK
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson expects his players to 'hit the ground running' when they report back for pre-season training next week. And that means no repeat of last year's Ashton Gate 'fat club'. Several players reported back overweight in July last year following the club's promotion from League One to the Championship. But Johnson has issued his first-team squad with individual fitness programmes this summer and will take a dim view of anyone carrying excess fat.

Bristol City have agreed a fee with Championship rivals Ipswich for the services of Wales international midfielder Gavin Williams. Robins boss Gary Johnson has swooped for the 28-year-old former Hereford United, Yeovil Town and West Ham United star after Nick Carle quit Ashton Gate for a move to Crystal Palace.
Clubcall
Bristol City midfielder Nick Carle is set to seal his transfer to Crystal Palace on Friday - and Eagles boss Neil Warnock has revealed he is targeting at least another three deals. Australian international Carle, 26, is due to undergo a medical today and, barring any problems, will become the second signing of the summer for Warnock.
