Gary Johnson has been tipped as a future England manager by one of his former employers. Speaking to the Evening Post, Yeovil chairman John Fry revealed City boss Johnson said he wanted to manage the national side when he was interviewed for the manager's job at Huish Park back in 2001. And after guiding the Robins to the play-off final in their first season back in the Championship, Fry believes Johnson has what it takes to reach the top.

Former Bristol City midfielder Alex Russell has no complaints over his failure to win a place in the side that came within one game of the Premiership last season.
The out-of-contract midfielder was released by City boss Gary Johnson at the end of last month and is now being chased by several clubs at League One and League Two level. The cultured passer played a key part in City's promotion to the Championship, but only made one league start under Johnson last season and spent time out on loan with League One sides Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town.
