City's Football in the Community team members Russell Tanner and Jonathan Pearce will be setting off on a gruelling two-day 208-mile bike ride on April 1st.

But it's no April fool as the pair plan to ride from Ashton Gate to Lands End - all in aid of Reading The Game initiative.

The club's community team help local primary schoolchildren improve their reading skills by taking them to Clifton Bookshop on Whiteladies Road.

The children then have their books signed by City's reading champion Steve Brooker, along with his team-mates.

Russell Tanner said: "Any funds we raise from this bike ride will ensure the survival of this very worthwhile scheme."
