Derek McInnes says a buoyant Reading side - fresh from takeover talks - will offer a stiff test for his troops tomorrow (3pm).
The Royals are on the verge of a reported £40m takeover from Thames Sports Investments, backed by a Russian tycoon.
It has dominated the news in Berkshire this week, and a larger than average crowd is expected at the Madejski Stadium.
And speaking on Bristol City Player, Derek said: "There's been a lot made this week about the investment being injected into Reading and that will be good news for them.
"If things are going well off the pitch then it can usually transform itself on to the pitch and really galvanise everybody.
"It's sure to put them in good spirits, but we know it's going to be a tough game anyway.
"It's still 11 versus 11 and hopefully our team will be capable of putting on a decent performance. If we can do that then we'll be tough opposition.
"They're pushing for the play-offs and they're a good side at home."

With both sides out of the FA Cup, this fixture has been brought forward to fourth round weekend.
The City boss added: "Both clubs were keen to get the game on the Saturday.
"We aren't daunted by it, we're in decent form in the league and we want to build on the Doncaster result from last week."
Marvin Elliott is due to miss the game, but Cole Skuse has shaken off a dead leg injury.
Nicky Maynard is in the squad despite engaging in talks with Wigan Athletic this week.
Reading yesterday added a pair of strikers to their ranks; Tomasz Cywka, on loan from Derby, and former City man Jason Roberts on an 18-month deal.
