SUPPORT MARATHON-MAN ROB

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010

Keith Millen is looking forward to celebrating Rob Cousins' career at his testimonial tonight (7.30pm kick-off).

The City manager is sending a strong City XI to face Paulton Rovers at Winterfield Road for the veteran midfielder's celebration game

Cousins began his career as a trainee at Ashton Gate, making just one first-team appearance, but has since embarked on a 1,000-appearance career in non-league football.

He has played for Bath City, Forest Green Rovers, Yeovil Town, Mangotsfield and Paulton, and is still going strong at Yate Town in his 22nd season.

Keith said: "It is a good occasion and we are happy to support someone who has played so long and done so well.

"It is a great achievement to have played 1,000 games at any level of football and I'm sure a decent crowd will be in attendance.

"There isn't much loyalty in football now and you see less and less testimonials, so what Rob has done is a brilliant achievement."

Admission will be priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for senior citizens/under-16s.
