James Wilson has undergone knee surgery and is now set for nine months on the sidelines.

The 21-year-old defender had tendonitis on his left knee and went under the knife last week.

He will now face a long recovery and will be out for the entire 2010/11 campaign, City's medical team confirmed today.

Manager Keith Millen told bcfc.co.uk: "It's desperate news for James but the hope is this will clear up the problem fully and he can come back raring to go."
