NEW SIGNINGS IN CONTENTION - KEITH

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Keith Millen would have no issue throwing his new duo Brett Pitman and Jon Stead straight into the action against Ipswich Town tomorrow (3pm).

The manager completed the duo's signing on Monday and says they have both looked lively in training during throughout the week.

"Both are in contention for a start," Keith told Bristol City Player in his pre-match interview.

"We've worked on our shape and the team is beginning to gel. It's a new group really, with lots of new players.

"They all need to learn very quickly how to play alongside one another and each other's strengths and weaknesses."

Looking at the opposition, the manager added: "Ipswich have had a good start to the season and the fact Jon Stead is going back there will add some more spice to the game.

"I watched Ipswich play Crewe in the Carling Cup on Tuesday and it was a hard game for them. They're a well-organised team and Roy Keane has a few youngsters in the team working hard for him.

"We know what to expect but we've had a good few days training and the lads are looking forward to it."

Cole Skuse (knee) and Jamal Campbell-Ryce (stiffness) are both doubts.
