CITY FANS IN TV TALENT SHOW

Posted on: Wed 25 Aug 2010

City fans are being urged to back local electro-pop band Legion of Many in their bid to reach the final of a TV talent contest.

The group - whose band-members Pete Atkinson, Mark Goddard and Gabriel Wetz are big City supporters - are semi-finalists in Sky One's Must Be The Music show, hosted by Fearne Cotton, this Sunday (August 29th, 7-8pm).

They and four other acts will go in front of celebrity judges Dizzee Rascal, Jamie Cullum and Sharleen Spiteri competing for a place in the September 19th final at Wembley Arena.

Telephone votes from viewers will decide the outcome and the finalists will also compete in the singles charts.

The Legion's describe their flamboyant sound as 'Daft Punk-meets-Queen' and their track Now We Are Stars can be heard now at www.legionofmany.com.

The band's fans reportedly include U2's Bono and Radiohead's Thom Yorke with Cotton and mod legend Paul Weller already becoming fully-fledged members of the Legion, which involves donning feathers and giving the 'Legion Salute'.
