Kalifa Cisse has returned to training after a groin problem.
And the former Reading midfielder is pencilled in to face Aldershot next Tuesday in another behind-closed-doors reserve friendly.
Manager Keith Millen told bcfc.co.uk: "It's great to have Cisse back in training again. We still have to be careful with him though.
"Cisse had a number of injury problems at Reading last season and that's why it is important that we don't rush him. We'll be looking to give him some match practice next week and then see how far along he is."
Louis Carey and Christian Ribeiro are both expected to get 90 minutes against Aldershot, whilst Irish youngster Jimmy Keohane and Patrick Hoban will also be involved.
Danny Haynes is the next injured player likely to make a return to the training ground. A City XI will play away at Paulton Rovers in Rob Cousins' testimonial on Tuesday, September 7th and Danny could be in line for a return in that fixture.
