Keith Millen says he is delighted to have secured the services of Steve Wigley as his assistant manager at Ashton Gate.
The new City boss today announced the appointment of the former Southampton manager as his number two on a one-year rolling contract.
Steve also has a role to play assisting England Under-21s boss Stuart Pearce, something he will continue to do during his time at Ashton Gate.
Speaking exclusively to Player, Keith said: "I'm delighted to appoint Steve Wigley as my assistant because he offers us great experience, both internationally and from the Premier League.
"Steve is still involved with the England Under-21s and their boss Stuart Pearce, which is a great connection for the club to have.
"I'm excited that Steve has agreed to come on board and he's looking forward to helping myself and the team with his coaching ability."

"He's got a great knowledge of the game but the most important thing is Steve hasn't worked at Bristol City before and comes in with a fresh pair of eyes.
"I was conscious that I've been here with the players for a long time - which is a good thing in management - but also I think it's important they have a different voice coaching them at times with different ideas.
"I'm excited that Steve has agreed to come on board and he's looking forward to helping myself and the team with his coaching ability."
He added: "Steve is based in Southampton and his son has just started university in Bristol. It's strange how these things seem to fall into place.
"I met with Steve on Sunday and he was very keen to join us. I already knew him from our coaching course and we got on well. He'll join us starting tomorrow (Thursday)."
