NICKY FIT TO FACE LIONS

Posted on: Sat 07 Aug 2010

Nicky Hunt has made a miraculous recovery from an ankle injury to be fit to face Millwall at Ashton Gate (3pm).

The former Bolton Wanderers defender was expected to miss the opening three weeks of the season with an ankle injury, which he suffered seven days ago in a pre-season friendly with Blackpool.

However, City's medical team have been working hard behind the scenes and news of Nicky's fitness for the season opener will be a major surprise to supporters and opponents Millwall.

David James takes the goalkeeping spot for his debut, whilst Damion Stewart and Albert Adomah also make their competitive debuts for the club.

City: James; Hunt, Stewart, Fontaine, McAllister; Campbell-Ryce, Skuse, Elliott; Sproule, Clarkson, Adomah. Subs: Johnson, Gerken, G.Williams, Edwards, Jackson, T.Williams, Vokes.

Millwall: Forde; Dunne, Ward, Barron, Schofield; Henry, Robinson, Carter, Trotter; Lisbie, Morrison. Subs: Mildenhall, Frampton, Harris, Hackett, Mkandawire, Laird, Marquis.

Referee: Mr M Oliver.
