Clevedon Town 5-2 Bristol City XI
Three late goals saw City's Under-18s beaten 5-2 at Clevedon Town in a keenly-contested pre-season friendly.
City led one-nil at half-time thanks to Scott Wilson's goal on the half-hour, pouncing on a long throw-in sent deep into the penalty area.
Clevedon - managed by former City left-back Mickey Bell - hit back strongly with two goals in the space of ten minutes after the interval.
But City restored parity through a stunning Joe Bryon 25-yard strike just before the hour.
Just when the game looked set to end with a share of the spoils, City's hard work was undone in the final six minutes as Clevedon ran in three quick-fire goals to give the final scoreline a rather one-sided look.
There was further bad news for City on the injury front, with Danny Ball limping off at half-time with a hamstring problem and Joe Lennox substitute early because of a suspected fractured wrist.
Academy manager John Clayton told bcfc.co.uk: "It was a good work out for the lads and unfortunately the scoreline looks a lot worse than it was because of the three late goals."
