NO DECISION ON CHRIS YET

Posted on: Wed 10 Mar 2010

Chris Iwelumo bagged his second goal in City colours last night - but is still in the dark regarding his future loan prospects with the club.

The on-loan Wolves striker volleyed in the decisive goal in last night's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park with his club boss Mick McCarthy watching from the stands.

Chris has played six times during his initial month's spell with the club, netting twice, and is due to complete that loan stint in Saturday's match at Reading.

Manager Gary Johnson has already stated his desire to extend the spell into a second month - which would also give Wolves a 24-hour recall option.

Striker Chris told Player last night: "I've not been told anything. I'll see what is happening here by speaking to the gaffer, speak to Mick McCarthy and see what's going on. I can't tell you anymore at the moment.

"I'm enjoying my time with the club. There's a great bunch of lads here. I'm loving playing and scoring goals so I can't complain."

Wolves chief McCarthy gave nothing away in an interview with the Express & Star today, reasoning: "I haven't decided yet - I've sent him out to get some games. It might be that we let him stay, it might be that we bring him back."

City boss Gary said: "What Mick will know, of course, is we're giving Chris regular games, and he's improving because of that."

A decision is expected after the weekend trip to the Madejski Stadium.
