DONS HELD AT THE DEATH

Posted on: Mon 08 Mar 2010

City Under-18s held their MK Dons counterparts to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Early chances came and went for Patrick Sayce and Joe Lennox - both one-on-one opportunities.

MK Dons scored with their first attack of the game on the half-hour as Charlie Collins pounced after George Baldock's shot was parried out by Tom Bradley.

City pushed after the break but had to wait until the 80th minute for their equaliser. Daryn Hennessy's corner was met by the head of Sayce for 1-1.

Academy manager John Clayton told bcfc.co.uk: "We're happy to take a point. We had another very young side playing and, at the back, Liam Douglas and Joe Bryon were outstanding."

City Under-18s: Bradley, Muggeridge, Douglas, Ball, Bryon (Brunt 60); Hennessy, Stripp, Kington (Rubbins 60), Livings; Sayce, Lennox.
