Supporter Tim Dicks begins a mammoth 136-mile run from Ashton Gate to Plymouth Argyle's Home Park stadium tomorrow in a bid to raise funds for injured soldiers.
The 26-year-old recruitment consultant will begin the challenge at half-time tomorrow afternoon, leaving from the centre circle and hopefully, if all goes to plan, arriving at Home Park in ten days' time for the club's away match with Plymouth.
Tim hopes to raise £5,000 for Help for Heroes, the Football League's chosen charity, and has already boosted funds by taking part in a Bristol City versus Bristol Rovers charity game last year.
He told bcfc.co.uk: "I will actually start the run in earnest on Sunday, and I will follow minor roads south through Somerset. I also plan to run over Dartmoor instead of going around it.
"The route will be around 136 Miles and should take me eight days to complete. This is the equivalent of doing five marathons in eight days."
The City fan added: "I come from a military background with my father being in the tank regiment, myself the RAF Regiment, my sister and my brothers in the Navy and the marines respectively."
Tim will be joined on the run by his girlfriend's father John Monaghan.
Blackthorn will be hosting another skills roadshow tomorrow in the Old Hirerite building. The fun, inflatable challenge is open to all supporters aged 18 or over.
