FRED WEDLOCK 1942-2010

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

The club is saddened to learn of the death of supporter Fred Wedlock.

The Bristolian folk singer - most famous for his 1981 song 'The Oldest Swinger in Town' - has passed away at the age of 67.

His grandfather, Billy, captained City and played for England, leading to the naming of the East End at Ashton Gate in Billy's honour.

A keen supporter and enthusiastic ambassador of the club, Fred also performed at many Ashton Gate events in the past.

Everyone at the club would like to pass on their condolences to Fred's family and friends.
