PAUL INVOLVED IN SCOTLAND VICTORY

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

Paul Hartley helped Scotland begin their new life under Craig Levein's management with a win.

The recalled City midfielder replaced Kevin Thomson at half-time in the international friendly with Czech Republic at Hampden with the score goalless.

It was left to Celtic captain Scott Brown to net the winning goal just after the hour mark in front of 26,000 delighted fans.

Paul played under Levein at Hearts and will have enjoyed helping the new boss mark his debut game with a victory. City loan striker Chris Iwelumo was an unused substitute on the night.

Elsewhere, Lewin Nyatanga played for the final 23 minutes in Wales' 1-0 home defeat to Sweden at the Liberty Stadium.

Johan Elmander bagged the only goal in the international friendly fixture.
