MARVIN "NOT AS BAD AS FEARED"

Posted on: Wed 03 Mar 2010

Marvin Elliott is likely to be ruled out for just a couple of weeks with his knee injury.

There were fears the midfielder could be sidelined for up to six weeks if medics discovered ligament damage on the problem knee.

However, City have now received positive news following a scan on the former Millwall battler.

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "It's the lesser of the evils and it's not as bad as feared.

"It's likely Marvin will be unavailable for a couple of weeks. We have to let the swelling go down and the bone-bruising before he can achieve full extension of the knee.

"We've had a torrid time with injuries and illness this season already so the fact this news is better than originally feared should be seen as a positive."

Evander Sno (back) is still expected to be sidelined for some time though, and the same applies to Jamie McAllister (calf).
