CITY BEATEN BY FOREST GREEN

Posted on: Mon 22 Feb 2010

City Reserves were beaten 1-0 by their Forest Green counterparts at the New Lawn tonight.

The only goal of the game came from Reece Styche 19 minutes into the Totesport.com Combination game.

City rarely tested the home keeper in a low-key affair whether chances were few and far between throughout.

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "We had another young reserve side out tonight and I'm sure a few were feeling a bit nervous as they are currently trying to win professional contracts.

"The pitch was a big leveller, of couse, and there wasn't a lot in the game which shows by the final scoreline."

There was further disappointment for City when young left-back Danny Ball was withdrawn at the break with a suspected broken nose.

City Reserves: Collis; Hennessy, Muggeridge, Edwards, Ball (Stripp 46); Kington, Lennox (Reid 82), Williams, Livings (Brunt 65); Plummer, Sayce.
