Bristol City Council meet tonight (Wednesday, February 10th) to discuss City's new stadium plans once more and the club is calling on supporters to turn out in force to support the proposals.

Last autumn the original committee voted in favour of the new stadium proposals, subject to certain conditions and further information.

Since then the club has worked hard to ensure that all outstanding issues have been resolved and will now have the case heard once more by the Council's planning committee this evening.

City chief executive Colin Sexstone told bcfc.co.uk: "This committee is just as vital as the first and we need all the support we can get.

"The club has worked hard to provide all further information to Bristol City Council and resolve all outstanding issues.

"We still need fans to turn up on the night and show the committee just how much the city wants the new stadium. The fans who turned up to support us last time played a vital role and we need more this time round."

The Development Control (South and East) Committee will meet at 6pm at the Council House on College Green. The officers' report has recommended the plans be approved, but this is not a guarantee of approval.

Supporters are being asked to turn up en masse to support the proposals and are advised to arrive as early as possible.

The council chamber will once more hear statements for and against the proposals before the committee enter open debate and vote.

Fans unable to attend will be able to view the meeting online via the Council's official webcasting service. A live blog will also be running on bcfc.co.uk.
