Bristol City has launched its official Twitter service - bcfctweets - on the Twitter network.

Updates, or 'tweets' will be made daily from Ashton Gate - or wherever City happen to be playing that day.

Although supporters will be able to keep up with news and information from the club via Twitter, in keeping with the informal nature of the service it will not be a simple RSS feed of the website's headlines but a more friendly and personal service.

For those fans who have yet to 'get' Twitter it is a free text-based information and social networking service which sends SMS messages of no more than 140 characters to followers, who sign up receive 'tweets' from official or unofficial sources.

You can find out more by logging on to www.twitter.com. Search for @bcfcwteets.

The club's official SMS service wiull continue to deliver Bristol City news headlines to its subscribers FIRST ahead of news appearing on the website or Twitter feed.

NB Although the service costs nothing to use online, fans are advised to check network charges if accessing the service via their mobile phone.
