Bristol City Football Club was saddened to learn of the death of Ron Craig, the former chairman of Bristol Rovers Football Club.

City chairman Steve Lansdown says: "Although a member of our local rivals, Ron Craig was always a great ambassador and servant to football in Bristol.

"Although we knew Ron had been ill for some time, it's always a shock when someone passes away.

"Ron was always friendly to us and very easy to deal with. He will be very sadly missed on the Bristol football scene.

"Our thoughts go out to his family at this time."
