BRISTOL PREPARES TO DELIVER
Bristol will submit its final 2018 World Cup bid to the England Bid Team at Wembley Stadium tomorrow.
The Bristol 2018 team will travel to the capital early on Thursday morning where they will hand over the final bid document which includes details of the stadium proposals, fan-fest sites, training camps and travel plans.
They will be joined by bid ambassador Gary Mabbutt as well as Aardman characters Wallace and Gromit. The final bid follows several months of hard work by the Bristol bid team who have prepared what they believe is a very strong bid.
Guy Price, from the Bristol 2018 bid team, told bcfc.co.uk: "We're really looking forward to submitting our bid as we feel it's really strong.
"An awful lot of work has gone into getting us this far and we're all excited about handing over our final proposals to England 2018.
"Now we just need to concentrate on getting one last major push of support behind us ahead of England 2018's decision next month. We need everyone in the region to text Bristol to 62018 and register their support online."
England 2018 will announce which of the 15 applicant host cities will be included in England's bid for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup on 16th December. Portsmouth has dropped out of the running after their council voted against progressing any further with their bid.
Fans can show their support for the bid by texting Bristol to 62018. Texts cost standard network rate.
Suppoters can also register online. Bristol has the largest support on Facebook where supporters of the bid can see exclusive images, videos, games and news - click here for more.
