SAY YES TO STADIUM PLANS!

Posted on: Mon 02 Nov 2009

Bristol City Council planners will meet this Wednesday to decide whether or not to grant approval to Bristol City's new stadium plans.

Since announcing proposals for a new regional stadium two years ago the club have been working tirelessly with architects and planners to bring together a masterplan for the Ashton Vale site - just over half-a-mile away from Ashton Gate - which will include a new 30,000-seat stadium, conference centre, hotel, housing and ecology corridor.

The decision on whether or not to recommend the project for approval to local government office will be made at meeting starting 6pm this Wednesday at the Council House.

Representatives from the club will be present to explain their case - and a positive decision will provide the project with a huge boost.

Fans support is vital in getting the message across - and you can help by downloading a 'Say Yes!' poster to put in your windows ahead of Wednesday's meeting.

If planning is approved and finance finalised then building will start in March 2010 with the club moving into their new home in summer 2012.
