CITY THANKS FOR OVERWHELMING SUPPORT
Bristol City FC and Bristol City Supporters Trust have issued a public thank you in recognition of the overwhelming show of support for the club's future stadium aspirations.
Last week the Supporters Trust launched supportcity.net where fans have had the opportunity to register their backing for the football club's planning applications at Ashton Vale and Ashton Gate.
Thousands of supporters have already registered and will be contacted soon on further ways they can help progress these projects that are so vital to the future of Bristol City Football Club.
Chairman Steve Lansdown said: "Public support for the redevelopment of Ashton Gate and Ashton Vale is going to be crucial for our future plans.
"It's so important that we do not sit on our laurels, we need the support of our fanbase and have been overwhelmed with the response so far.
"It shows just how passionate the fans are about the club and how keen they are for us to take this important step."
Supporters Trust chair Stuart Rogers commented: "As a fans body we have to represent but also mobilise the fans support base.
"We decided to set up this website to allow fans to come together and play an important role in the future of the club.
"The response so far has been fantastic and we'd like to publicly thank everyone who has already signed up and welcome new supporters.
"We now hope fans will take the next step and act on their pledge of support by writing to their councillors to support both development projects and signing the petition for the redevelopment of Ashton Gate which will play a crucial part in the process."
