Gavin Tomlin's last-gasp goal earned Yeovil Town a 3-2 win over City at Huish Park.

Gavin Williams gave City an early lead but strikes from Dean Bowditch and Danny Schofield turned the game on its head.

Yeovil's Ryan Mason missed from the spot - and Danny Haynes showed him how to do it to equalise. But Tomlin snatched the win at the death.

City led after just three minutes when Michael McIndoe's corner forced a goal-mouth scramble and Williams pounced with a firm close range finish.

Williams saw two further shots blocked in quick succession soon after, and then Nicky Maynard rifled over the top.

The home side's equaliser came out of the blue as Bowditch picked up the ball and curled a sweet right-footed shot into the top corner.

And Schofield soon made it two, running into the box on 24 minutes unchallenged before coolly chipping over Dean Gerken.

It could have been worse still on the half-hour when Cole Skuse was harshly adjudged to have pulled back Ryan Mason in the box. However, Mason saw his resultant spot-kick saved by Gerken.

John Akinde wasted two good chances for City before half-time. The striker was denied by Yeovil keeper Alex McCarthy in a one-on-one situation, then miscued his header from Christian Ribeiro's precise cross.

Haynes replaced Maynard after half-time and equalised soon after from the spot. John Akinde was bundled over in the box by Nathan Jones and Haynes powered in his third goal of pre-season.

Gerken made a smart save to deny Tomlin, but the striker wasn't to be denied three minutes from the end with a low shot into the corner from 25 yards.

Cole Skuse almost made it 3-3 in stoppage time with a venomous shot but McCarthy's fine one-handed save ensured it was the home side that ended victorious.
