Stephen Henderson has suffered an injury setback ahead of the new season.

The Irish goalkeeper has broken his fifth metatarsal resulting in a five-to-six week lay-off.

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "It's disappointing news for Stephen ahead of the start of pre-season training.

"I genuinly believe he can challenge Adriano Basso and Dean Gerken, but now he has to spend time getting himself fit again."

The 21-year-old was offered a one-year deal at the end of last season, which he agreed to sign. He has made two appearances as a substitute to date, as well as earning numerous caps at Under-21 level for Republic of Ireland.
