Bristol City Football Club is inviting local residents to view proposals for the future of Ashton Gate Stadium.
Following detailed investigation of possible future uses, the Club has concluded that a foodstore development would provide the most appropriate scheme for the area whilst providing the financial input required to make its new stadium at Ashton Vale a reality.
To this end, the Club is currently in discussions with Tesco regarding the future of the Ashton Gate site and the exhibition will enable members of the public to discuss the options and provide feedback. The consultant team will also be available to answer any questions on the proposals for both sites, as well as the planning application process.
The exhibitions, taking place in the Premier Lounge at Ashton Gate from 3.30pm to 7.30pm on Friday, June 19th and 10am to 4pm on Saturday, June 20th, follow three rounds of public consultation on plans for the new 30,000-seat stadium.
Steve Lansdown, chairman of Bristol City Football Club, said: "Our aim for Ashton Gate is to achieve the maximum value for the site while boosting the economic wellbeing of South Bristol. The monies received from its sale will go towards the development of the new stadium and we are committed to involving the local community and local businesses.
"Ashton Gate and Ashton Vale will form one of the most exciting developments seen in Bristol for many years and will enable the city to bid to become a host city for the 2018 World Cup. The proposal will give the region a huge boost and would represent an investment of £120m, creating hundreds of new jobs and forming major foundations for the regeneration of South Bristol."
A dedicated hotline has been set up on 0845 602 2807 to answer queries on the proposals for both sites.
