CHAIRMAN FEATURED ON LEAGUE SITE

Posted on: Wed 03 Jun 2009

Steve Lansdown features on the official Football League website to discuss City's proposed new stadium and the World Cup bid for 2018.

The City chairman speaks openly about his desire to see the club move into a new stadium at Ashton Vale in 2012/13 - and that the venue hosts World Cup football.

He says: "A new stadium provides extra revenue and gives you the ability to have better corporate hospitality and potential for sponsorship arrangements, everything to make you more profitable, high profile and a bigger club."

Of the World Cup bid, Steve says: "If it's to be held in Europe again, then England has a great chance.

"Assuming we're successful, Bristol will be a host city and I just think that's too big an opportunity to miss."
