City physio Nick Dawes told bcfc.co.uk: "Jamie should return to training early this week, although we'll speak to a specialist just to make sure."

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "The good news is there's no fracture.

"We were certainly worried at the time given what happened to Jamie earlier in the season (the double fracture versus Derby)."

Louis Carey is pencilled in to play for City Reserves against Plymouth on Tuesday, while City will monitor the fitness of Jamie McAllister, who will be on international duty with Scotland this week.

"We should have Louis back next week (at Crystal Palace)," said Gary. "We don't know about Jamie yet, we'll have to wait and see."
