SKY BLUES STEAL LATE ACADEMY WIN
City Under-18s let in soft goals as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Coventry City.
The disappointing result comes on the back of last week's stunning 4-1 win over Chelsea on the club's new Failand training ground.
John Clayton's side fell behind early on from a corner, but drew level midway through the first half when Ashley Kington's corner was flicked on by Joe McClennan and guided in by Robert Stambolziev.
But another soft goal, caused by poor defending, saw Coventry go into the half-time interval a goal to good once more.
Another Kington set-piece, this time from a free kick, brought the home side level again. Luke Wilkinson rose highest in the box to head in for 2-2.
But with four minutes to go City allowed Coventry to snatch all three points with a one-on-one finish past goalkeeper Tom Bradley.
Academy manager John Clayton told bcfc.co.uk: "For 70 minutes we played really well and dominated the game, but we let in soft goals and it cost us."
City Under-18s: Bradley; Edwards, Williams, Wilkinson, Boon (Stearn 80); McClennan (Hennessey 75), Dunn, Stambolziev; Jackson, Livings (Lennox 70).
